Watchlist for February 9th: Pump JYHW making a move

I don’t think I’ll trade much tomorrow … I had plenty of excitement today! The market as a whole is weak and that has reduced the number of big runners that I like to play.

JYHW – Re-pump, this time with snail-mail newsletters (or so I’ve heard). Potential long, then a potential short.

Trade recap: Short selling NXTH for fun and $2700 in profit

Horrible trading on my part with NXTH but I still did okay. I love penny stock trading! See the video for more. Also check out a special edition of Tim Sykes’ Livestock tonight from 6pm to 7pm EST.

Daily profit: $2677.44

Watchlist for February 7th: One shot, one kill

While I wish my title were referring to stock promoters, unfortunately it refers only to my wish for a short on a pumped-up stock.

NXTH – ALFSS. This is very near collapse in my opinion. See Tim Sykes’ post on the pumping behind this stock rise.

nxth

MITI – Nice chart. I will ignore it and look at NXTH though.

Q&A – Saturday morning mailbag: Time & sales, position sizing, Canadian brokers, position sizing, & more!

Video #1 questions:

1. What is up with Interactive Brokers’ Time & Sales feature? It seems to have multiple prints of large trades that don’t occur?
2. How do I enable AQS Stock Loan / Borrow in IB? (I suggested seeing my post on that and then signing up to my email list so you can see another post on it; there is a link on the right-hand side of my blog).
3. How should I determine my position size for trades?

Video #2 questions:

1. Do you know about using Canadian brokers to trade penny stocks or to evade the PDT?
2. How did you get the nickname Reaper?
3. It seems that the term ‘short squeeze’ is used too loosely? How do you tell if something is a real short squeeze or if it is just momentum buyers?
4. How do you find stocks that you buy that are potential pumps?
5. What are IB’s commissions for very low-priced stocks?

Trade recap for February 5th

Nothing too exciting today. The most exciting part thing today was my sign off at the end of the video recap: “Don’t get too drunk and don’t eat too many Fritos.”

Daily profit: ($132.00)

Weekly profit: ($1271.12)

Disclosure: Long 4,000 BLGW and 16,000 EXPU. No positions in any other stock mentioned. This blog has a terms of use and you can find all my disclaimers and disclosures there as well; my full terms of use is incorporated by reference into this post.

Watchlist for February 5th

NXTH – Pumpity pump! There appear to be hard copy mailers going to people that include a sample of their ‘revolutionary’ sweetener. The stock has started to move up more quickly and I think a dump is approaching. ALFSS!

nxth

AFFX – Nice move on good earnings. This is a nice breakout and maybe it can gap fill to $8.50.

Trade recap for February 4th

Only one trade today. I nailed a call on CNLG as a long in chat and from my watchlist last night as it consolidated at $2.85 and then spiked to a high of $3.35 early in the morning, but I was too slow to get a fill.

Daily profit: $131.30

Watchlist for February 3rd

CNLG – Still on short watch today. Today was the first down day. There were no shares to short that I could find today.

cnlg

BSDM – Up big today on news of a journal article about their product. Potential long tomorrow on continued strength.

bsdm

BGEM – Pump & dump. Hopefully it is pumped up enough to make it worthwhile to short. Note that this is a re-pump.
